Yin & Yang Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training 200 hours

June 19 - July 10 2023, Norway

Our 200 hours Yin & Yang Vinyasa Teacher Training blends multiple styles of yoga into one course. Yin and Yang are the Taoist concepts which describe the two relative qualities present in everything. Yin is more internal, passive, cooling and downward. While Yang is more external, dynamic, warming and upward. When these terms are applied to yoga, Yin Yoga is a slower practice where poses are passively held for longer, working on the deep, dense (Yin) connective tissues and joints in the body. Yang Yoga, in contrast, refers to a more active practice, working on the (Yang) muscles and blood flow, building strength, stamina and flexibility.

Combining modern teaching techniques with ancient wisdom, we will work with you to deepen your understanding of the yoga practice and lifestyle, no matter your level of practice. You will be encouraged to challenge yourself physically and spiritually and will emerge from the 200 hours yoga course ready to practice and teach safely with confidence and authenticity.

Yin & Yang Yoga

On the Yang front, expect a vigorous sequence of postures, with challenging flows, strong core work, arm balances and inversions. Students are encouraged to play with different variations and modifications making the practice playful and accessible to all levels of practitioners. Doesn’t matter if you are beginner or have been practicing yoga for years, expect to take your asana practice to the next level!

The Yin practice is soothing and nurturing and allows us to move away from the “doing” and “achieving” of the yang energy and drop into a more receptive, calm and meditative energy. Expect few poses with long holds and loads of props. This slow-paced practice is supported by the 5 Elements of Chinese Medicine, which touches every aspect of our body, mind and spirit. The in-depth knowledge you will receive at our training will help you understand how to use this powerful practice to remove stagnation, promote the free flow of energy, clear your mind and encourage stillness and mindfulness.

You will also learn extensively about meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises), kriyas
(cleansing techniques), Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy, Biomechanics and much more. At the
end of the course, you will feel ready to start teaching this amazing practice with others or completely upgrade your own practice and teachings!

About our training

What can the student expect from this Teacher Training?

From the Yang part of the course expect to learn a vigorous and creative sequence of postures, with challenging flows, strong core work, arm balances and inversions. We will have daily asana clinics where we break down the poses, looking at the alignments, modifications, adjustments, straightening drills, so that you feel prepared to both perform and teach Yang Yoga asanas and flows. No matter where you are in your practice today, this training will take it to the next level!

From the Yin part of the training expect practices with few poses with long holds and loads of props. This slow-paced practice is supported by the 5 Elements of Chinese Medicine, which will be taught by an experienced Chinese Medicine Practitioner.  The in-depth knowledge you will receive at our training will help you understand how to use this powerful practice in a therapeutic way, to remove stagnation, promote the free flow of energy, clear your mind and encourage good health and mindfulness.

You will also learn extensively about meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises), kriyas (cleansing techniques), Yoga Philosophy and History, Anatomy, Biomechanics and practice teaching in small groups and one-on-ones.

Other than that, you can expect a great team of experienced teachers, a friendly and supportive environment which you and all other like-minded teacher trainee yogis can thrive in and create long-lasting connections and friendships.

Is this Teacher training for you?

Our training is designed for those that are looking to become yoga teachers, for yoga teachers that want to upgrade their teaching skills and feel inspired, but also for those who are simply wanting to gain a solid foundation and deepen their own practice, study yoga philosophy and tradition, form healthy lifestyle habits and meet a loving community of like-minded yogis.

It is entirely your choice, whether or not you decide to become a yoga instructor. But along the way, you might discover your yoga teaching voice and get excited to share the love of the yoga practice and the yoga benefits. You will have all the tools to do so.

What to prepare before Teacher training?

We recommend that you practice Vinyasa Yoga regularly or another Yoga style for at least four to six months, or have sports/fitness training at a medium to high intensity. More importantly, we ask that you come with an open mind and heart and be receptive to learning new knowledge, while being supportive to yourself and others.

What our previous students say about it:

I was so lucky to join 50hrs Yin Yoga and 5 elements teacher training with Marcela Mota and Tobias Tang. It really made sense for me to bring the Chinese Medicine into Yin Yoga. Love the way they teach, and their personality – you can feel their love for what they want to share and teach. For me it was an amazing week! I went trough all feelings, and I was able to “let things go”. I think that is why we need Yin Yoga. In this world there is so many things we have to do – in Yin Yoga we go so slow that we have time to listen to ourselves – what do I really want and what do I feel. Everything around us is going fast, but we need sometimes to go slow to balance in life.

I`m so happy to have met you both, Marcela & Tobias, hope to see you again.

I really recommend this 50hrs Yin Yoga and 5 elements teacher training.

With love
